Dublin is the largest city of Ireland, it is also the capital. We just visited for the weekend.
First we went to see the famous Guinness Storehouse. Wandering around the building, you get a sense of the size of it. There isn’t a formal tour, but everyone follows the same path around the museum. There are various displays and boards, all very informative and interesting.
Next we visited the Kilmainham Gaol. A guided tour takes groups around the jail giving a run down of the history and the famous people that were held there.
For me, this tour got boring very quickly. There was too much standing in one room, listening to the guide talk for 5 minutes, then move to another room for another 5 minutes. The only interesting part was the main jail block. This block has been used in 9 films, including the original ‘The Italian Job‘ staring Michael Caine.
